Task 1A

The Game Operating Regions diagram

Game Operating Region
Explanation

Pre-Game

Pre-game is the game set up instalment and everything in-between. From the download to the moment you press the run button, pre-game is the preparation for the launch of the game. For example, if you were to buy CALL OF DUTY on PC, pre game would be installing the game, asccepting the download, placing it in a file, and then waiting for the installment to finish so that you can hit "Run". Pre-Game is always gathering the data for the actual game rather than anything to do with playing, setting it up or interacting with anything in the game itself. Its the only region that allows the computer to do all the work as you wait for the game to be installed onto your computer. For the most part, Pre-Game is also the longest uncontrollable area out all the regions, as it depends on your download speed and what size/type of game you are trying to download /install onto your computer. For example, if you were to download an old mario game from nintendo 64, it wouldnt take as long as Destiny as their sizes are completely different.

Game Start

The Game start operation as it suggests is starting the game, By this point the game has been fully downloaded and is ready to run and open the start screen. Ends with the game screen, preferably showing the start button or system. Depending on what game you are playing, this region can alaso vary in terms or time and interaction. For example, if you are playing a story driven game, then you might have to see a opening cut scene for the first time exaplining the story or at least the beginning if the sory. Another example would be if you were to play a more simple game, such as a puzzle game, then you may not have any scene/short video about the story or the game before you get to hit start and play the game. The game start region doesnt only involve the opening and the title screen either, it also includes the company names that were involved in the making of the game and all other production/design parties assosiated in the project.

In-Game

You have now started the game and you are currently running, and playing the game using a controller, mouse and/or keyboard, this region is named In-Game region. The In-Game region will alwas be you playing the actual game, right after you have chosen your save file, which character your going to use or even what game mode you want to play in. Afterall of that has been decided, you are usually took to a loading screen where you will have to wait for the world of the game to be made, but right after that, its all gameplay and hopefully fun.

Post-Game

You have been playing for a while, and now you are ready to close the game or have reached the end of the game, so the credits show and you quit the game to the main menu.
